🌟 Arc Review 🌟 As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson

Thank you Netgalley and Random House for this incredible arc, the finale to one of my favorite series, As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson.

Wow! Where to begin? This book was serious!! I mean the 2nd book had a serious ending but this just…. it’s EVERYTHING!! Holy cow, ya’ll (yes, I try not to actually use bad language) but yeah… holy freaking cows ya’ll. This is intense!

To start from the start, Pip is really struggling with PTSD symptoms. She is hypervigalante as in a loud noise sounds like gunfire, sweaty palms feeling like her hands covered in blood. All that fun stuff. She is unfortunately still dealing with Max Hastings who is accusing her of libel (definite asshat) (am I allowed to say that?)

All of this is made so much worse when she realizes she is being stalked…. and it’s super creepy, dead pigeons and chalk drawings getting closer to her house. The only person who listens and tries to help is Ravi (I love you RAVI!!!) This stalker is well known in the area but it is believed he was caught and is now and forever in jail.
But is he?
Pip is on the case of her life! Will she find the .killer before it’s too late?

I definitely recommend this series! And the last book, this finale, is amazing (chef’s kiss 💋).

Look for this on Sept. 28th!

The Project by Courtney Summers, A Quick Review

This fictional story could not feel more real or leave me more unsettled. The Project by Courtney Summers is a masterpiece thriller revolving around a religious cult and the connection between two estranged sisters.
Summers pulled me into this story immediately with her intense and powerful writing. The juxtaposition of two stories, Bea’s being in 3rd person and Lo’s in 1st, was simply brilliant.
I want to add a trigger warning for religious topics, some political topics particularly concerning the year 2016, and lastly physical abuse and abuse in general. If any of this is too difficult for you to read about, then I do not recommend this book.
Now, on the other hand, if your interested in a thriller that gets under your skin and has some major twists, then I would definitely recommend this.
Thank you Netgalley and St. Martims Press and Wednesday Books for this Arc. This book comes out February 2nd this year!

Percivious Insomnia by JJ and AJ Cook, A Quick Review

I loved the idea behind this book. It begins with new information being released about the future of mankind and our evident downfall that is approaching. What would really happen if we found out that everything we thought we knew about life itself was a lie? The introduction to all the different characters was great and I felt like the authors created a really good cast for this story. The concept makes for a thrilling tale, particularly that last chapter. I had a “Wow” moment at the end that makes me excited for the next book. The only issue I had was a little confusion following which character’s POV I was reading because it would sometimes change from paragraph to paragraph. However, I was able to get used to this unique style of writing and wound up really enjoying this book.
